Step 1: Open Your email program,(*Images are form MS Outlook 2003). You are going to create a special mailbox called "Spam" that you will filter all your messages into. We do this as some legitimate messages can sometimes get flagged as SPAM - this way, the mail stays out of your way until you have the time to check/delete this.
How to: Using your mouse, click on "File" from the top menu. Select "Folder" then "New Folder". You will automatically be asked to name the folder and select where to place the folder. Name the folder "SPAM".

Step 2 - We create the "Rule" that will tell your email program what to do when it receives these "flagged" emails.
How to: Click on the "Tools" menu in the upper menu bar, and select "Rules ans Alerts".

Step 3 - Select "New Rule", and the Rules wizard will pop up.

Step 4: - Select at the top of the dialog box "Start from blank rule". In the the box labeled "Step 1: Select when messages should be checked", select "Check messages when they arrive". Cleck Next.

Step 5: In the box labeled "Step 1:Select condition(s)", check the statement that says "with specific words in the header".

Step 6: In the box below labeled "Step 2: Edit the rule description (click an underlined value)" , click "specific words".

Step 7: In the Search Text Dialog box that pops up type in to the Specify a word or phrase field "X-Spam-Status: Yes". Click "Add" and the "OK". The rules wizard Dialog box will still be open after you click "OK" (Leave Rules Wizard box open).

Step 8: The next step is to set up where the email will go once it has been checked by the rule.
In the Rules Wizard box click "Next".

Step 9: Then from the top box, "Step 1" , select "move it to the specified folder".

In the box below ("Step 2:..."), click the underlined value "specified".

Step 10: Now navigate to the folder you created earlier named "SPAM". Select the folder and click "OK".

Step 11: Click "Finish" in the Rules Wizard Dialogue box. Make certain the rule created labeled "X-Spam-Status: Yes" is selected and then click "Apply" and "OK".
